On Monday 16th May, 90 of our Year 7 students went to the Reptile Centre on a geography fieldwork trip. The students undertook two investigations throughout the day. The first was in the stream where students used digestives biscuits, ranging poles and tape measures to find out about the characteristics of the river stream.
The second investigation took part in the forest adjacent to the Reptile Centre where students undertook a scavenger hunt and looked at wildlife in the forest.
Students loved experiencing geography in the real world and will now spend the next few lessons analysing their river data to find out whether the river conforms to the theory learnt in class.
