On the 2nd March 2016, the PE Department hosted a swimming gala for all year 7, 8 and 9 students. There was a massive range of events so that even the most reluctant swimmer could get involved. Events varied from traditional races, such as freestyle and backstroke, to the more obscure and entertaining events like the piggy back challenge and the boat race.
A big well done to all who took part! There was an excellent turnout across all three year groups and each event was full of enthusiastic participants. At the end of the day, one student commented that he was “tired” but “had loved it!”
Sport events at Regents Park are always well supported by PE teachers, but they could not run such huge events without the support of their Y9 PE Champions. Finally, teaching and student volunteers from Richard Tauntons Sixth Form College provided invaluable assistance.
Mrs. Croud, Curriculum Leader for PE, would like to extend her thanks to all the staff and students involved, whether as contestants or supervisors.
